Toy donors can get Disney on Ice ticket


Disney On Ice is partnering with Making Kids Count to help brighten the holiday season for area children.

A ticket voucher redeemable for tickets to see Disney On Ice’s Passport to Adventure show at Covelli Centre will be given in exchange for the donation of a new, unwrapped toy. The toys will be given to Making Kids Count’s Holiday Adopt-A-Family Program.

The toy drive will take place Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at Making Kids Count, 7178 West Blvd., Suite E, Boardman.

Families will receive one ticket voucher per donation, and are allowed up to two vouchers per family. Vouchers can be redeemed for tickets at the Covelli box office from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. A total of 200 ticket vouchers are available.

Disney On Ice will be at Covelli Centre Dec. 21-25 for seven performances. Go to for times and ticket info.

‘Refractor’ returns to Movies 8 theater


“The Refractor,” a locally made action movie that was written and directed by Kwai Daniels of Youngstown, will again be screened at 9 tonight at Movies 8 in Boardman. Daniels also stars in the film as the superhero title character who takes on the mob. The film premiered last month.
