2 shootings in Dayton leave 3 victims seriously injured

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — Two late-night shootings in Dayton have left three people seriously injured.

Police say officers were called just after 11 p.m. Wednesday to a reported shooting in a car. Lt. Mark Ponichtera tells the Dayton Daily News it appears that a vehicle approached a stopped car and an occupant fired multiple shots into it, hitting a man and a woman.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a dark-colored Toyota with a silver front end piece.

Both victims are in critical condition at Miami University Hospital.

Less than an hour later, police say a woman was shot in the back. Sgt. Chad Knedler says the victim was transported to Miami Valley Hospital in serious condition. It’s unclear what led to the shooting.
