The case of a first-degree felony rape at a Milton Township campground was bound over to a Mahoning County grand jury. Lee T. Mosley, 35, of New Castle, Pa., waived his preliminary hearing in Mahoning County Area Court on Wednesday.

The accuser is a teenage girl. Mosley’s bond was set at $250,000 cash or surety, and he is in the Mahoning County jail.

Milton Township police were called to the Green Acres Lake Park campground on Creed Road in Diamond about 4 a.m. Sunday. Mosley was arrested Sunday.

Man dies in prison

LEAVITTSBURG

John C. Grantz, 67, of Leavittsburg, sentenced to life in prison in December 2013 for raping one girl over seven years and molesting another, has died in prison.

Grantz, of Burnett Road, died Monday in Pickaway Correctional Institution in Orient. His death appears to have occurred as a result of natural causes, said the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.

Grantz pleaded guilty in Trumbull County to four counts of rape that carried life prison sentences, two other rape counts and three counts of gross sexual imposition.

Boil alert issued

The city has issued a boil alert after a water-main break Wednesday near North Main Street. Residents should boil water for at least one minute and then allow it to cool before drinking it or using it for cooking or personal hygiene. The boil alert will be in effect for at least 24 hours while the city performs tests to make sure the water is safe, Mayor John Darko said.

Family Day set

Boardman Park is hosting Outdoor Family Day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday Admission is free with a nonperishable food item donation for Second Harvest Food Bank. The event will include archery, fishing, deer-blind demo, taxidermied animals, live snakes, wagon rides, a live band and more. Food concessions also will be available.

Family Camp Out in the Park will take place from 6 p.m. Saturday until 9 a.m. Sunday. Participants are invited to camp out with local Boy Scout Troop 60 for a night of fun under the stars. There will be a campfire, hot dog dinner, s’mores, a movie and more. The registration fee for the camp out is $7 per family. Check-in and tent set up starts at 6 p.m. Registration forms can be picked up in the park office or by calling 330-726-8105.
