ELECTION UPDATE | Early results show incumbents doing well in contested races


YOUNGSTOWN — With early voting results in, the three Austintown Township levies, renewals with increases, are all losing. In the race for the townshipo's trustee, incumbent Rick Stauffer is winning by 5 percentage points over Andrea Paventi.

Boardman Trustee Larry Moliterno is well ahead of his two challengers.

Meanwhile the Youngstown anti-fracking Community Bill of Rights is losing by 2.8 percentage points, while Mahoning County renewals for mental health and developmental disabilities both have more than 75 percent of a favorable vote.

For Youngstown City Council, all Democrats are enjoying large leads over their challengers.

In the race for Campbell mayor, challenger Nick Phillips is up by 15.6 percentage points over incumbent William J. VanSuch.
