Douglas Hudoba, son of Dr. Russell and Marilyn Hudoba previously of Canfield, graduated from Ohio State University College of Dentistry on Friday with a doctor of dental surgery degree. Dr. Hudoba has accepted a position as associate dentist with Premier Dental of Granville and Premier Dental of Grove City in central Ohio.

Nicholas Schiavoni recently earned his doctorate from the Cincinnati College of Medicine. He is a 2007 graduate of Boardman High School and was valedictorian. He earned a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Miami University of Ohio.

He has accepted a residency in anesthesiology in Denver at the University of Colorado-Denver Hospital. Dr. Schiavoni is the son of Atty. Louis Schiavoni and Joan Schiavoni, and the grandson of David and Rosemary Keffler and Sophia Schiavoni.

Kirsten Joan Midgley, daughter of Ron and Jane Midgley of Boardman, will graduate from Georgetown University School of Medicine with a doctorate in medicine next Sunday.

She will specialize in ophthalmology and will continue in June with her first year of residency in internal medicine at Washington Medical Center in Washington, D.C. She will spend three years at Georgetown University Medical Center where she will concentrate on her specialty.

She graduated summa cum laude from Wittenberg University in 2011 with a degree in biology. She is a 2007 graduate of Canfield High School.

She is the granddaughter of the late Wesley R. and Cecile Midgley of Canfield and the late Thomas E. and Joan Kempe of Boardman.

Mallory Anne Kolich of Salem graduated Saturday from the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. She will pursue a psychiatry residency at Summa Health System in Akron.

She is a 2006 graduate of Salem High School, where she was a member of National Honor Society. She graduated summa cum laude from Kent State University in 2010 and was part of National Society of Collegiate Scholars and the Phi Beta Kappa Society.

She is the daughter of L. Michael Kolich and Margaret Kolich of Salem, and her grandfather is Louis Kolich of Canton. She is engaged to Marcus Dangelo of Salem.


Jessica Elizabeth Assion of Poland will graduate from the Mylan School of Pharmacy at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh with a doctor of pharmacy degree on May 23.

She is a 2009 graduate of Poland Seminary High School. She was a member of Kappa Epsilon professional Pharmacy Fraternity.

After completing a corporate internship with Target, she will work for Target Pharmacy in the Akron area upon graduation.
