Free jazz concert


Four jazz combos from the Dana School of Music will present a free concert at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Hub, at Kilcawley Center, on the Youngstown State University campus.

The program includes the music of Freddie Hubbard, Thelonious Monk, Grant Green, Wes Montgomery, Dizzy Gillespie, Sonny Rollins, Alton Merrell and student compositions with an American songbook standards and jazz standards repertoire.

Fitch vocal cabaret


Fitch High School’s vocal music department will present its annual Cabaret Concert at 3 p.m. Sunday in the school auditorium.

The entire department, with 148 members, will participate in this concert that features musical theater numbers. Admission is $5 ($3 for students and seniors).

‘One Acts’ at CHS


Canfield High School Players will present “A Night of One Acts,” featuring “Check, Please!,” “Making the Move” and “The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon,” at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the school auditorium. Admission is $8 ($5 for students and seniors).

The three one-act plays involve a cast of more than 30 students, said director Regina Reynolds.
