Governor signs Youngstown plan and dissolves academic commission

COLUMBUS

Gov. John Kasich signed the Youngstown Plan this afternoon.

The plan, approved last month by both houses of the state legislation, dissolves the existing five-member Youngstown City School District Academic Distress Commission and appoints a new five-member commission in its place.

That commission will appoint a chief executive officer to manage and operate the city school district.
