Youth softball clinic to be Feb. 14 and 21

A youth softball clinic is being offered at Poland Seminary High School on Feb. 14 and 21 from 8-10 a.m. The cost is $30. Registration forms can be found at www.polandgirlssoftball.com or call 330-507-1006 for details.

Tickets now on sale

The Poland High School athletic department will be pre-selling tickets to the Poland boy’s basketball game at the Covelli Centre on Jan. 25 at 7:30 p.m. The Bulldogs will take on West Middlesex. Presale tickets can be purchased in the High School Athletic Office starting Jan. 12-23 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Adult tickets are $6 each and student tickets are $4 each. All tickets at the gate are $8.

Basketball classic to take place in January

The eighth annual Boys Basketball Classic for fifth- and sixth-grade divisions will take place on Jan. 17 and 18. Teams have a four game guarantee. For more information, contact Doug Dawson at classicsports@zoominternet.net or 330-565-9372.

Poland Boosters basketball tournament

Boys and girls in grades 4, 5 and 6 are invited to participate in the Poland Boosters basketball tournament on Jan. 24, 25, 31 and Feb. 1, Contact David Wolfe at 330-707-0565 or polandhoopstourney@gmail.com for additional information. Updates will be posted at www.polandboosters.com.

Neighbors wants winter sports news

The weather is getting colder and it’s now winter sports season. Neighbors wants to be there every step of the way. If you’re a winter sports coach or the parent of an athlete, we need you help. In order to get teams and players the recognition they deserve, we want to showcase them in our pages. We can only do that if you commit to sending us game reports and photos each week. If you send it, it will get in.

The sports news we’re looking for ranges from varsity high school teams down to middle school and even elementary and recreational leagues.
