Heroin charges

Police serving search warrants Tuesday afternoon investigating drug activity arrested two people on possession of heroin charges.

About 5:05 p.m., Tequan Scott, 20, was arrested at a Maywood Avenue home. Reports said police found three bags of heroin in the home as well as a loaded .38-caliber revolver.

Another man in the home had $486 cash in his pockets, reports said.

About an hour later, Shatice Jackson, 22, was arrested in a home on West Heights. Police found a bag of heroin, a digital scale and a marijuana grinder at the home.

Two arrested after beating up woman

Reports said two women were arrested about 4:35 p.m. after beating up another woman on the South Side.

The woman told police she got off a bus in the 3700 block of Elbertus Avenue when she was jumped by Ava Teague, 46, and Cecilia Mclendon, 59, and knocked to the ground.

Reports said the victim told police she is pregnant and was trying to protect her stomach. Reports said the victim had blood coming from her nose and mouth, and she was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

Teague and Mclendon were found at a home on East Midlothian Boulevard and arrested on assault charges. Both women were taken to the Mahoning County jail. The third woman could not be found, reports said.

Stolen from Arby’s

Copper and coil were stolen from the roof of an Arby’s restaurant sometime Tuesday morning.

A manager of the restaurant, 4440 Mahoning Ave., called authorities and said about 100 feet of copper pipe, one air-conditioning condenser coil and one ice machine condenser coil from the roof of the business had been removed. It happened sometime between 12:01 a.m. to 8 a.m. Tuesday. A lock on the ladder that goes to the roof was intact, and the store manager believed the thief or thieves brought a ladder.
