Downtown Youngstown festival April 25 will feature more than a dozen bands
YOUNGSTOWN — Red Wanting Blue will be the headliner at Federal Frenzy, a free music and arts festival on Federal and North Phelps streets, downtown, between 2 and 11 p.m. April 25.
The event is sponsored by Youngstown State University Penguin Productions, the Rich Center for Autism, and the city.
Martini Brothers Burger Bar, O’Donold’s Irish Pub and Suzie’s Dogs & Drafts will host live music performances throughout the afternoon and a local artisan marketplace will take place on the streets.
Outdoor stage performances begin at 6 p.m. featuring grunge rock artist Bully, country-Americana singer-songwriter Jordan DePaul, and Red Wanting Blue.
A total of 17 acts will perform, including 7Hykoo, Joy Ike, The Lighthouse and the Whaler, and 10 YSU-affiliated student bands.
The Summit FM radio station will sponsor the Listener’s Choice Award for eligible student performers. The winning act will be offered the opportunity to perform and record a three-song set in The Summit’s Audio-Technica Studio C.
