Campbell cops arrest 2 on drug charges

CAMPBELL— Police arrested two Youngstown residents on drug charges two hours apart Monday.

Shortly before 9 p.m., police stopped 22-year-old Roxanne Westover of East Lucius Avenue for having objects hanging from her rear view mirror and obstructing her view to the front.

According to a report, Westover appeared nervous during the traffic stop, as she was “fidgeting quite a bit.” A search of the car and Westover produced two plastic bags containing 1.5 grams of suspected marijuana, a burnt marijuana cigarette and $60 in cash.

She is charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, and also was cited for the traffic offense.

Just before 11 p.m., police stopped 21-year-old Vincent L. Sherman Jr. of Julian Street for weaving in and out of traffic and for having a suspended driver’s license. Officers immediately noticed a strong smell of unburnt marijuana coming from the car.

According to the report, In the car and on Sherman, police found a plastic bag containing 2.8 grams of suspected marijuana and $278 in cash. Sherman is charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, and also was cited for the traffic offenses.

Both Westover and Sherman are set to appear in Campbell Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Friday.
