Area short story writers who would like a chance to read their work aloud are invited to be part of “Celebrate Short Fiction” Day from 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 21 at Boardman Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 381 Boardman-Poland Road.

Hosted by Nancy Christie, author of “Traveling Left of Center and Other Stories,” www.nancychristie.com/books/traveling/, the event is designed to focus attention on the short fiction literary form, giving local fiction writers the opportunity to share their work with bookstore patrons.

For more information or to register as a participant, writers should contact Christie via email nancy@nancychristie.com or phone 330-793-3675. More information about “Celebrate Short Fiction” Day is available at www.nancychristie.com/findingfran/celebrate-short-fiction-day/.
