Poland's Garrett Gardner wins twice in state tennis tournament

— Poland senior tennis player Garrett Gardner won each of his first two matches today in the Division II state tennis tournament.

Gardner started the day by beating Cincinnati Clark Montessori's Chris Bak 6-3, 6-0. He then beat Lima Central Catholic's Pierre Desprat 6-1, 6-2 in a second-round match at Ohio State's Varsity Tennis Courts.

Gardner will meet Asher Hirsch of Cincinnati Country Day in a state semifinal match beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
