CLASSES

South High School January and June Classes of 1946 will meet at noon Wednesday at TJ’s Restaurant in the Holiday Inn, South Avenue, Boardman, to discuss the upcoming 40th All-Alumni Banquet planned for June 13. Spouses and friends are welcome. For information call Dolores Brindle at 330-757-9368.

CLUBS

Newcomers of Mahoning Valley will have its monthly luncheon meeting Wednesday at Kennsington Golf Club Restaurant in Canfield. The gathering starts at 11:30 a.m., and lunch will be at noon. Officers will be installed. Call 330-704-0236 for information or reservations.

Toastmasters Club will meet from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Aetna Freight Building, 2507 Youngstown Road SE, Warren. For information call Ken Shellito at 330-373-6113.

Warren Women’s Connection will have a “How Does Your Garden Grow?” luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 9 at DiLucia’s Banquet Room, 2610 Elm Road, NE, Warren. The cost is $13. Marge Larda, OSU master gardener, will discuss container gardening, and the inspirational speaker will be Barbara Falls, who will talk about “How Crisis Provides Answers to Life’s Most Important Questions.”

Girard Men’s Democratic Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lamancusa Hall.

RELIGIOUS GROUPS

Youngstown South Christian Women’s Connection will host a luncheon, Fragrance of Summer, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 11 at Avion on the Water Banquet Center, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield. The program will feature Scentsy by Judy Ducay, and Bonnie Baughman will provide music. The guest speaker, Barbara Falls, will present “Crisis Provides Answers to Life’s Most Important Questions.” The cost is $13, which includes lunch. D.A.R.E. Singles Group, which meets at Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road, Boardman, has planned the following: 7 p.m. Saturday, bowling at Boardman Lanes; noon to 4 p.m. Monday, picnic at Master’s Pavilion in Boardman Park; 6 p.m. Tuesday, play boccie in Boardman Park; 7 p.m. Wednesday, meet at Dairy Queen in Cornersburg; 7:30 p.m. Thursday, birthday night at the church; and 7 p.m. May 30, miniature golf at Sports World in Boardman.

SUPPORT GROUPS

Alzheimer Network Family Support Groups will meet Tuesday as follows: 1:30 p.m. at Easter Seals Adult Day Care Center, 721 Boardman-Poland Road, and at 6:30 p.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Education Building, 251 S. Broadway Ave., Salem. For information call 330-788-9755.

Caregiver Support Group will have its regular meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Park Vista Private Dining Room, 1216 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. Connie Morgan, Park Vista’s director of social services, and Diana Hartwig, Park Vista social worker, will facilitate the group. It is open to all caregivers in the Mahoning Valley. F.O.C.U.S. Breast-Cancer Survivors will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Gia’s, 708 Boardman-Canfield Road, Boardman. All breast-cancer survivors are welcome.

Nar-Anon, a 12-step program for relatives and friends who have been adversely affected by a loved one’s addiction to drugs, meets at 7 p.m. tonight and every Friday at the Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic, 160 Clifton NE, Howland; and every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Paige & Byrnes Insurance, 425 Niles-Cortland Road SE, Howland. TOPS 1237, Austintown, will meet Thursday at Idaho Road Alliance Church, 250 Idaho Road, across from Frank Ohl Middle School. Weigh-in is from 5 to 5:30 p.m., and the meeting will follow until 6:30. For information call 330-758-4923.

TOPS 1262, McDonald, meets Wednesday in the community room at the post office building. Weigh-in is from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.; the meeting will follow. New members are welcome.

TOPS 1497, Austintown, will meet from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Smith Corners United Methodist Church, 3000 S. Canfield-Niles Road. New members are welcome; the first meeting is free. For information call 330-507-3126.

VETERANS
