Guardian Angels of Ohio, a volunteer guardianship program of Trumbull County Probate Court, is looking for new volunteers. Angel volunteers receive training to become advocates who reach out as friends to seniors who may need a friendly phone call, a visit in a nursing home or a visit at home. Angels are also involved in planning special events for seniors such as health fairs and Make a Difference Day projects. Lord of Life Church, 550 N. Broad St., Canfield, will host The Gathering Place at 11 a.m. Monday. Scott Weimer, assistant chief of Canfield Police, will talk about senior safety issues. There also will be lunch, Trivial Pursuit and a story. The program will begin at 11:30. This event is for all senior citizens. Different games and activities are offered each month. Niles S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center, 14 E. State St., has planned a bus trip Thursday to Hard Rock Rocksino in Northfield. The cost is $22 with incentives of $15 for slots and $5 for food. The bus will leave Niles at 8 a.m. and return about 4:30 p.m. Reservations must be paid at time of registration.
