Obama’s power grab must be stopped to save America

Obama’s power grab must be stopped to save America

I recently saw on Fox News a group of 20 people who were being questioned and asked to comment on the current conditions facing our country today. This group consisted of a cross-section of all political parties and independents. These people were will informed, and their remarks and comments confirmed this.

The moderator threw out questions and asked for comments covering the serious problems facing this country. All were encouraged to join in with their individual comments. I witnessed a lively exchange of comments and ideas, and I hoped those pinheads in Washington were listening.

During the program the moderator asks the audience this question several times: “How many of you people, were I to give you $1 million no strings attached, would leave this country and never return?” The number of hands went up were surprising and frightening. If anyone still has any doubts as to where this country is heading, after listening to this group, they should be dispelled.

These people were not picked off the street, but were educated and all were up to date on current events. I believe their thoughts and comments were excellent examples of what most people believe is happening to our country today.

Our free democratic society is eroding, and Washington is doing nothing about it. If we’re ever going to see daylight again we the people will have to act. We must find a way to dismantle the power grab that is being employed by the president and members of his party. Their goal is to choke the life out of our democratic system then attempt to lead us down the one-way path to socialism.

We should never forget those two words uttered so often by Obama throughout his first campaign “Fundamental Transformation.” So many people interpreted those magic words as a symbol of change for the better. We know now his intent was to cause a complete change of government resulting in a loss of our personal freedom. We also know now those magic words were not of hope of a healthy change, but a threat as what our new president really had in store for us.

Hey Leon!

Seriously, do your brain a favor -- switch off FauxNoise!

There are healthy alternatives to the endless shout-fest that is Faux.

C-Span, for example, discusses issues rationally, in a cool-headed fashion, and with no commercials for gold company scams (hawked by Faux news-models and talking-head personalities themselves) or reverse-mortgage rip-offs. C -Span even allows you to call in and join the discussion from the comfort of your home.

PBS is another healthy alternative, with a wealth of current-issue programming, also commercial-free, that presents and analyzes issues without the rabid appeal-to-outrage approach.

You could learn more in one day from these two networks than you could learn from a month of Faux programming.

Unless, of course, your goal is to hammer the President, and sink your teeth into Benghazi and never let go.

OK. So, you hate the President -- at least learn some valid criticism.

First president credited with THE LIE OF THE YEAR. Fox news didn't do that.

US CREDIT RATING DOWNGRADED, Fox News didn't do that.

etc. etc. etc.

iajoc sounds like a union president. That will be fixed shortly when Ohio becomes A RIGHT TO WORK STATE.

Hey Iajoci

I find Leon's comments and criticism to be very valid.

I'll also point out that, so far, between Leon's letter and these first three comments, you are the only person to employ sarcasm, display a superior attitude, resort to belittling name twisting ("Fauxnews"), and use the word "hate" (attempting to paint Leon with it).

What else would you expect from a union guy?
A Dem showing his true colors.

In a rare display of courage & decisiveness, Pres. Obama announced today that he has "unfriended" Vladimir Putin from his Facebook page.

U.S. Sanctions against Russia are complete

Not taking any side here, but explain why the stock market is so high, jobs are being created, unemployment down, 401k's making money for the first time since 2004. Restaurants are packed every night, new cars sells are way up, housing starts and sells are recovering, wealthy are donating again. If all these people are so willing to leave the country and it is so great elsewhere why haven't they left. Leon states they are educated and informed, so they must not be poverty stricken. It is easy to be pulled into an idea when ones hate already exists. It wasn't our current president that created the Patriot Act, it wasn't this president that bailed banks out that lied about loss due to lending. Those banks lent money to unworthy clients. Made them purchase mortgage insurance that covered their loss. Then took YOUR money and gave it to themselves. I know this man has his share of lousy policies, but what most claim is his fault isn't. It is the gooberment machine in and of itself. They all lie, they all on the take, and they all could care less about you.

Probably the same reasons for the Iran Contra Affair, why Reagan made the LIfeline Phone Subsidy Program in 1985, the same reason Private Health Care provided by many of us employers have changed plans for the past 20 years, the buy American plan of the 1990's, with new car purchases, the same reason the IRS was has been hounding anybody they felt like since the 1980's, the same reason people were ignored by a horse training in New Orleans after Katrina, the same reason unemployment reached the midteens in the mid 80's. The same reason the Iranian Embassy was taken over and the failed attempt in April of 1980 left military men dead and prisoners killed, the same reason Watergate occurred, the same reason for many things. We can spend all day attacking individual parties. Again, we are a divided nation because some can only remember what they wish to remember. No party is looking out for your interest evio, they both stink. Just do prefer manure or sewer gas?

Great points, and level headed reasoning Bill. These people act like Obamba is the only one ever to do anything wrong. It has been happening under the command of both parties for decades and decades, but some can only see the faults of the "other party" and not their own. They get caught up in the Fox News witch hunt mentality. Fox chose the side of a freeloading, racist, Nevada rancher over Obama before they even heard the guy's views. This guy freeloaded, owing money to the sum of a million dollars and continuously broke the law, yet they chose him and tried to make the gov/ Obama the bad guy. This shows how they desperately try to make Obama look bad at any cost.

By the way evio, you forgot to address any of the issues in my first comment. Here is a refresher: explain why the stock market is so high, jobs are being created, unemployment down, 401k's making money for the first time since 2004. Restaurants are packed every night, new cars sells are way up, housing starts and sells are recovering, wealthy are donating again.

It isn't picking a side to point out the obvious. It's picking a side to blame it all on somebody this isn't entirely at fault.

The stock mkt is so high because companies are making money head over heels, but they are not hiring. They are learning to get along with a smaller workforce & are putting the extra dollars into their treasurey.

I was reading, in a local newspaper, that one medium company sized company, 6 yrs ago, employed 7 engineers on their staff, at one of their plants, but today they employ 2 engineers & production is up. Most companies are working with a leaner staff & are producing the same, as before, or have improved .

This is bad for the future of the US because they have learned to tighten their belt & will never go back to their former self.

Regarding unemployment dropping. That is crap. They don't include those who have stopped looking for a job. The real unemployment is probably closer to 13%

No, the economy is most definitely not "recovering". Despite what you may hear from the politicians and from the mainstream media (shrugging off today's terrible GDP print), the truth is that the U.S. economy is in far worse shape than it was prior to the last recession. In fact, we are still pretty much where we were at when the last recession finally ended. When the financial crisis of 2008 struck, it took us down to a much lower level economically. Thankfully, things have at least stabilized at this much lower level. For example, the percentage of working age Americans that are employed has stayed remarkably flat for the past four years. We should be grateful that things have not continued to get even worse. It is almost as if someone has hit the "pause button" on the U.S. economy. But things are definitely not getting better, and there are a whole host of signs that this bubble of false stability will soon come to an end and that our economic decline will accelerate once again.
