Pastor anniversary


The fifth anniversary of the Rev. Carl Anderson and his wife, Sharon, will be marked at 11 a.m. Sunday at Greater Liberty Baptist Church, 66 10th St.

Guest speaker will be the Rev. Dennis Garner of Christian Life Ministries and congregation.

For women


Evangelist Martha Taylor will speak at the second annual luncheon for mothers and women at 2 p.m. May 11 at St. Mark Orthodox Church hall, 3650 Logan Way, Liberty, sponsored by St. John African Methodist Episcopal Church, 97 W. Washington St.

Cost is $25 for adults and $15 for children 12 and younger.

Women’s Day


Beulah Baptist Church, 570 Sherwood Ave., will sponsor a free Women’s Day program at 4 p.m. Sunday.

Speaker will be minister Yvonne Hobson of Alpha & Omega Missionary Baptist Church.

Those attending are asked to wear white and pink, if possible.

Memorial service


Hubbard Police Department will conduct an honorary memorial service at 2 p.m. May 15 at the City Safety Center, 233 School St.

There will be tours of the police station and refreshments.

In case of inclement weather, the service will take place at the administration building.

Taiz prayer


Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center will host Taiz prayer at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Magnificat Chapel.

This Christian interdenominational prayer form includes music, Scripture and silence.

Light refreshments and fellowship will follow.

Vision City


“A Time for Refreshing” is the theme of a service at 10 a.m. Sunday at Vision City, 2681 Youngstown Road, with guests, Pastors Dwight and Lori Dumas.

Arts on Atlantic


Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St. NE, will host “Arts on Atlantic,” a concert of show tunes and hymns, at 4 p.m. Sunday

Featured will be a piano/vocal recital with baritone Tyler Clark and pianist Jan Crews. Clark has performed around the country and has starred locally in shows including “Forever Plaid,” “The Music Man” and “Legally Blonde.”

Crews studied with Nadia Boulanger in Fontainebleau, France. She is music director of Opera Western Reserve Young Artist program and sings with Cleveland Orchestra Chorus.

A free-will offering will support the music program at Christ Church, where Clark is a regular chorister and soloist.



Mothers will have free admittance to Bible Walk, 500 Tingley Ave., from 3 to 7 p.m. May 11, Mother’s Day.
