Six-week online email challenge
Ohio State University Trumbull County Extension is offering the 2014 Spring Wellness Challenge, a free six-week online email challenge designed to help participants improve their health by encouraging physical activity, enjoying healthful foods, and practicing sound fitness suggestions.
The challenge lasts from April 7 to May 18. Those who sign up will receive two weekly e-communications from OSU Extension containing research-based nutrition, health and fitness information. Additional tracking logs will be available for download to help participants document their progress.

Dr. Adam Cash, a Humility of Mary Health Partners plastic surgeon of Warren, will be guest speaker at two Women in Touch programs this spring from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Mr. Anthony’s Banquet Center, 7440 South Ave., Boardman, and April 3 at Ciminero’s Banquet Centre, 123 N. Grief 101 program
Grief 101, a program presented by a Hospice of the Valley bereavement facilitator, is offered from 1 to 3 p.m. April 10 at St. Joe’s at the Mall, Eastwood Mall, Niles (behind Sears).
The program will explain the grieving process and its impact on people and families. Support materials will be distributed. It is open to the public and free. Registration is preferred but not required. For information, call 330-549-5901.
The Connections Autism Program of Sharon Regional Health System is hosting its seventh annual autism conference “Practical Interventions for Autism: Evidence, Practice, Schools, and Families,” from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 17 at its School of Nursing, 740 E. State St.
The keynote speaker is Mike Miklos, statewide lead consultant for the Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network Autism Initiative. The symposium focuses on applied behavioral analysis interventions used in the home and school settings to address the core deficits of Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Free arthritis expo
The Arthritis Foundation, Great Lakes Region, Northeastern Ohio and Akron General Medical Center are offering a free Arthritis Expo from 8 to 11:30 a.m. April 10 at Akron General Health & Wellness Center–Green, 1940 Town Park Blvd.
Doors open at 8 a.m. to view exhibits, and the first speaker will start at 8:30. Presentations include “Is My Pain Really from Fibromyalgia?” by Dr. May Azem; “Sleep: How it Impacts Your Health” by Mark Beebe; and “Taking Arthritis Medications Safely” by a pharmacist.
