“Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge” (10 p.m., Syfy): Expect the fabric to fly on “Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge.” It’s a new competition that has 10 wannabe designers vying to create spectacular new critters. The winner nabs a contract with the studio that’s home to Kermit and his pals.

Theater changes dates for play
Due to illness among the cast and crew, the Victorian Players Theater has postponed its production of “Life With Father.”
The play — originally scheduled to open this Friday — will now open April 4 and run for two weekends.
Curtain times are 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays.

Irish dance show at Ursuline High
Burke School of Irish Dance’s annual showcase performance will be at 7 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday at Ursuline High School auditorium, 750 Wick Ave.
Tickets are $10 at the door. Tickets can also be purchased in advance at all Kravitz Deli locations and at Office Furniture and Telephone Outlet, 4521 Market St., Boardman.
Farmers’ market and bake sale
The weekly farmers’ market will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Unitarian Universalist Church, 1105 Elm St.
It will include a bake sale to raise funds for the Community Bill Of Rights.
Rihanna receives fashion award
Rihanna earned an icon award at the American Music Awards last year. Now she’s receiving a similar honor from the fashion world.
The Council of Fashion Designers of America announced Monday that the 26-year-old pop star will receive the CFDA Fashion Icon Award on June 2 in New York City.
The award is given to one whose style has made a tremendous impact on pop culture around the world.
Past recipients include Lady Gaga, Iman, Kate Moss and Nicole Kidman.
The 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards will be at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall.
Rihanna will launch a three-date co-headlining tour with Eminem on Aug. 8 in Los Angeles.
The artists have collaborated on the No. 1 hits “The Monster” and “Love the Way You Lie.”
