Early morning fire destroys North Side vacant house

Published: Tue, March 25, 2014 @ 10:21 a.m.

YOUNGSTOWN — A fire destroyed a vacant house on the city’s North Side.

The fire department received a call at midnight Tuesday about a fire at 416 Lora Ave. that had spread to all three floors of the house. The house didn’t have any windows or a door. Firefighters went inside to see if anyone was in the house. No one was inside.

As the house was heavily engulfed when firefighters arrived at 12:04 a.m., they let it burn down.

The cause of the fire is under investigation but is considered suspicious.
