YOUNGSTOWN

Members of the Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Task Force searched a house Wednesday on the South Side as part of a drug investigation.

Task-force members were at 336 Edwards Ave. about 9 a.m.

Austintown Police Detective Sgt. Rob Whited of the task force would say only that the search was part of a “narcotics investigation” and no one had been taken into custody.

At least two people were on the front porch as police were inside, one covered by a blanket and one in handcuffs, before they went inside with police, who could be seen taking pictures inside the house.

Whited said officers seized some suspected marijuana, suspected cocaine and prescription medication from the home.

He also said officers had been investigating activity at the home for awhile. He said he did not want to comment further because the case is part of an ongoing investigation.
