Jesus “The Key” Ministry is sponsoring trips with proceeds send inner-city children to camp. Groening lecture


Circle for Spiritual Aid to Life will offer an introduction lecture featuring Arlene Barkan, leader of Youngstown and Cleveland Communities and Internet Children’s Community Nationwide, at 6 p.m. Thursday at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 550 N. Broad St. The Circle of Friends is not affiliated with Lord of Life Lutheran Church or any other religion. A documentary film will be part of this 90-minute lecture. Admission is free. Valley chapter


The Society of St. John Chrysostom, Youngstown-Warren Chapter, will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 764 Fifth St.

Speaker will be the Rev. Dr. Bogdan G. Bucur, associate professor at McAnulty College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts Department of Theology at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh and pastor of St. Anthony’s Orthodox Church (Antiochian Archdiocese) of Butler, Pa. His topic will be “The Feet that Eve Heard in Paradise and was Afraid: Learning Theology from the Hymns of Holy Week.” The program is free and open to the public.

Weekend retreat


Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center will host a conference retreat, “A Christian Spirituality for the 21st Century,” from March 28-30. Presenter will be Michael Morwood, theologian in residence at Kirkridge Retreat Center, Bangor, Pa. Cost is $250 including program, lodging for two nights and meals. Calendar tea


Ebenezer Life Center Church of God In Christ will host its 58th annual free Calendar Tea at 5 p.m. Sunday at St. Columba Cathedral hall, 144 W.Wood St. Brenda Herron Of Monument of Faith Church of God in Christ in Warren will be guest speaker.

Ministries chapter


Debra Ingram, dean of Kingdomites Dance Academy and founding director of Bride of Christ Worship Team, will be guest speaker when Youngstown Chapter of Igniting New Life Ministries, an interdenomina-tional ministry, meets March 17 at Georgeanna Parker Activity Center in Boardman Park, 325 Boardman-Poland Road. Fellowship will begin at 6:30 p.m. with ministry at 7.



Jewish/Christian Studies/North will meet Wednesday at Temple El Emeth, 3970 Logan Way, to discuss the use of the arts in faith traditions. Dr. Kong Oh, spokesperson for the Baha’i community, will speak.
