Man who cooked heroin while driving on SR 11 jailed after hearing

GIRARD

A man who admitted cooking heroin on a spoon while driving up state Route 11 Wednesday went to court on Thursday.

Aaron J. Repko, 25, of Youngstown-Kingsville Road, Fowler Township, is in Trumbull County jail in lieu of $20,000 bond.

He pleaded not guilty Thursday in Girard Municipal Court to three misdemeanor charges — two of drug possession and one of possessing drug-abuse instruments. He was not required to enter a plea to a felony charge of drug possession.

Vienna police said an officer was dispatched to Route 11 at 11:14 a.m. for a possible drunken driver. He approached Repko’s vehicle on the King Graves Road northbound exit and found a spoon on the passenger seat with a burned substance on it.

While being searched, Repko kept falling asleep and indicated he had injected heroin a short time earlier and had been cooking the drug while driving. Officers also found pills in Repko’s possession.
