Youngstown police arrest man on heroin charge

Published: Wed, March 5, 2014 @ 1:44 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN — Police reports say officers found $128 and a bag of suspected heroin on Charles Peter Greenwalt, 54, of Youngstown, who was pulled over about 8:50 a.m. Tuesday for having a cracked windshield.

Reports said when Greenwalt got out of his car after being pulled over on Market Street, he threw something under the tire, which was a lottery ticket containing a packet of suspected heroin.

Officers found the cash at the scene, and when Greenwalt was booked into the Mahoning County jail, corrections officers found an additional $200 hidden in his shoes, reports said.
