UPDATE | No evidence of a shooting on South Side

Published: Tue, March 4, 2014 @ 4:49 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN — Police called to a home in the 500 block of West Chalmers Avenue about 3:15 p.m. for a shooting found no evidence of any crime committed there.

Several cruisers responded to the house for a call of a woman who was inside, wounded by a man who had shot her. There was no one at the home when police arrived. After the fire department arrived to force the door open, officers searched the home and found no one inside and no evidence that a crime had been committed there.

Police also checked addresses on East Florida and Cambridge avenues where the alleged victim was known to have been, but found nothing at those addresses either.
