Seeking trustee applications

BOARDMAN

The Eastern Regional Kidney Foundation, which serves Mahoning, Trumbull & Columbiana counties, is seeking trustee applications from the tri-county region to complement its newly elected officers.

The ERKF received its first “Diamond” Sponsorship from The Kidney Group Inc., who made a $10,000 donation to help promote the work of ERKF during the month of March, which is National Kidney Month. World Kidney Day is March 13.

The Boardman-based foundation was started in 1979 by medical professionals dedicated to helping the indigent with the mounting costs of kidney-related expenses, including transportation, dialysis and prescriptions. It is a 100 percent volunteer organization and is not associated with the National Kidney Foundation. All money received is granted directly to patients who depend upon this funding for their survival, said Meghan Hiland, ERKF board member.

The ERKF is the Southern Park Mall Chick-fil-A “Charity of the Month,” with a spotlight presentation at 5 p.m. March 9 at the Tyler History Center, 325 W. Federal St., Youngstown, as part of the monthly ‘Second Sundays’ jazz event.

For information about trustee applications and sponsorship opportunities, visit the ERKF website at www.erkidney.org or call Hiland at 888-614-7313.
