Berlin Township Volunteer Fire Department is hosting a Casino Night on April 5 at The Georgetown in Boardman. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for dinner, and gaming will take place from 8 to 11. Dinner will be an all-you-can-eat buffet for $50 a ticket.


Boardman Gridiron Club will host its third annual Spring Arts and Crafts Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 29 in the Boardman High School gymnasium, 777 Glenwood Ave. The event will feature crafters and artisans from as far away as Cleveland and Akron. Show organizers are expecting up to 100 vendors to participate, with products including handcrafted jewelry, fabric purses and hats, doll clothes and accessories, as well as several booths featuring Easter treats and baked goods. The Boardman High School football team and cheerleaders will assist vendors and patrons with their goods. All proceeds will benefit Boardman football and cheerleading programs.

First Federated Church, 10786 Mahoning Ave., North Jackson, will host an Easter Craft Fair from noon to 4 p.m. April 5. Local crafters will be joined by food vendors selling homemade baked goods, maple syrup, candy and more. Also planned is a 50-50 raffle.


St. Michael Orthodox Church, 125 Steel St., Youngstown, is seeking vendors for a flea market planned from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Kielbasa, haluski and other foods will be available. For information call the Rev. Andrew Gromm at 330-799-8133.


The Vestibule Club of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 343 Via Mount Carmel, Youngstown, will sponsor a night at the races Saturday. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and races will begin at 7. Admission is free. Hot dogs, sloppy joes and beverages are free. Sausage sandwiches will be $3 each.


TOPS 2191, Austintown, is sponsoring a Spring Craft Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 17 at Wickliffe Presbyterian Church, 45 Idlewood Road, Austintown. They are seeking vendors. Tables are $20 each and space is limited. Call 330-774-1803 for details.


Niles Chapter of the American Sewing Guild is sponsoring a bus trip to the Original Sewing and Quilting Expo (www.sewingexpo.com) at the Cleveland IX Center on April 4. The cost will be $33 for members and $37 for nonmembers includes admission, a free class ($19 value), a shopping bag, a commemorative pin and bus transportation. There are three pickup sites: Austintown Plaza, 6:30 a.m.; Niles Kmart, 7 a.m.; or Champion Big Lots, 7:15 a.m. Reservations must be paid by March 21. The bus will load for the return trip at 6:15 p.m. and stop for dinner at Bob Evans at passengers’ expense. Call 330-847-7549.

Trumbull County Travel Club has planned a day trip for the Canton area and wine tasting at Gervasi Winery on April 12. Lunch is included at Mulligan’s in Canton, as is a stop at Henry London’s Chocolates and Anderson’s in the Village. The cost is $89 per person, and 15 seats are available. On May 28 and 29, members will travel to the Kentucky Derby site, and the trip includes dinner on the Ohio River and breakfast before a full guided morning tour of the derby complex with lunch included at Churchill Caf . The afternoon will include Evan Williams’ bourbon experience at the Barrel House. The cost is $295 per person with a $50 deposit to reserve a seat on the motor coach. In July the group will take another two-day vacation for which a passport is a must. Niagara on the Lake, Canada, will feature shopping, sightseeing at the falls, the Shaw Festival complete with a backstage tour and picnic, and a stop at Peller’s Winery. The cost is $275 per person with a $50 deposit due immediately. Trip insurance is available. All the club’s trips for the year are scheduled, and the last one will be Dec. 8.
