A square dance will take place from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday at Paradise Church, 10020 New Buffalo Road, Canfield, to benefit the kidney donor for Neil Maxwell. Donations will be accepted for admittance. Food and beverages will be available, and there will be a basket raffle. Funds raised will be used to offset nonmedical expenses incurred by the donor.


Helping Hands Closet at the Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, has gently used and new clothing for the entire family at low prices each Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. During the month of July there will be a sale of 25 percent off each purchase.

Senior Independence Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, will have a rummage sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 7 through 11 and July 14 through 18. Large and small items can be donated, but no clothing will be accepted. Drop off donations from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Handcrafted items by the Round Table Woodcarvers and the Water Color Society also will be for sale. July 18 will be $2-per-bag day.


Sunrise Senior Living of Poland, 335 W. McKinley Way, Poland, is sponsoring a trip to The Rivers Casino Aug. 12. The cost for members will be $25, and all others will pay $30. The bus will depart the Senior Independence Senior Center, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, at 8:30 a.m. to Sunrise Assisted Living in Poland, where breakfast will be served at 9. A shuttle also will be provided at Poland Methodist Church at 8:45 a.m. Bingo and raffles will take place during the trip. At the casino each participant will receive $20 free play incentive. Reservations are due by Aug. 1. Trips to the casino also will take place Nov. 13 and Jan. 29.
