On MVSD board

Mayor John A. McNally appointed Jamael Tito Brown, who he beat in last year’s Democratic primary for mayor, as his representative to the Mahoning Valley Sanitary District board of directors. The MVSD operates Meander Reservoir, source of the city’s drinking water.

The appointment is for three years, which began Wednesday and ends June 24, 2017.

Brown is a former 2nd Ward councilman and city-council president.

Also, McNally appointed Porfirio Esparra Jr. to the city’s board of health. That term expires March 31, 2019.
