The Cafaro Foundation is awarding a $100,000 grant to the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber of Commerce Foundation to bolster the Chamber’s economic development efforts in Trumbull County.

The Cafaro Foundation is the charitable entity established by the Cafaro family in memory of William M. Cafaro, founder of the real estate development and management company that bears his name, the Cafaro Co.

In a press release, Regional Chamber President Tom Humphries said the Cafaro Foundation has supported the Chamber in its work for several years, including a similar $100,000 grant in 2012.

Since 1991, the Regional Chamber’s development personnel have made 7,137 visits to retain and expand businesses in Trumbull County, the press release says.

The work has resulted in $2.5 million in business investment, 9,965 new jobs and retention of 20,924 other jobs, the statement says.
