Masons honor 2 members for meritorious service

CLEVELAND

At its annual meeting June 7, the Ohio Council of Deliberation, 32nd Masons for the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, elected Paul R. Birch of Struthers and Thomas G. Jacobs of Boardman to receive the coveted Meritorious Service Award for service to the Scottish Rite. The award is one of the most prestigious in Masonry.

Birch is a member of Poland Lodge 766 and has been an active member of the Valley of Youngstown, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, for 26 years, most of those as a faithful member of the Scottish Rite Escort.

Jacobs is a member and past master of the Negley Lodge 565 and has been an active member of the Valley of Youngstown for 40 years. He has served as presiding officer of Hiram Lodge of Perfection and is serving as lieutenant of the escorts as well as tyler for the valley.
