It seems every bank today offers designer debit cards and checks. Customers order from a catalog of artistic visuals and carry the results in their wallets and pocketbooks. Farmers National Bank took this custom design trend one step further and local schools are benefiting.
Farmers’ school rewards program offers customers their choice of school mascot as a design for their bankcards and checks. For every debit card issued, Farmers donates $10 to the school selected and those donations add up fast.
Girard City Schools have earned $330, Howland Local Schools have earned $630, Niles City Schools have earned $730, Austintown Schools have earned $620, Canfield Local Schools have earned $270, Mineral Ridge/Weathersfield Local Schools have earned $860 and Youngstown State University has earned $2,350.
“As a long time community bank, we value our local schools,” says Farmers CEO Kevin Helmick. “We have a great opportunity to give our customers something they value, all backed by Farmers’ rock solid service and security and get some extra needed money into our children’s schools. Everybody wins.”
Helmick says he hopes sustained customer interest will allow the bank to make school donations on a quarterly basis.
Other schools participating in the school rewards program are Poland, Crestview, Columbiana, Heartland Christian, Leetonia, Jackson Milton, Western Reserve and Lakeview. Contact your local Farmers branch if your school is interested in joining the program.
