Economic-security program for seniors
SCOPE of Trumbull County is offering “Economic Security Initiative,” a program to help seniors, at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Warren SCOPE Senior Center, 220 W. Market St.
A free lunch will be available. There are no residency or membership requirements; however reservations are required. Call 330-399-8846.
The well-child immunization clinic will be Thursday in the Girard Health Department located in the City Building at 100 W. Main St. For times and appointments, call 330-545-6048 between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
A $10 fee will be charged per child. Parents are reminded to bring a copy of the child’s immunization record. A parent or guardian must accompany children under 18. The child must be pre-registered before the clinic.
ValleyCare Health System of Ohio is offering a free program about treatment of chronic joint pain at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Patio Room of Leo’s Ristorante, 7042 E. Market St. Light refreshments will be provided. Registration is required. Call 1-800-679-3606.
Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Michael Jones, D.O., an independent member of the medical staff at ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital, will present “Current Concepts for the Treatment of Arthritis of the Knee, Hip and Shoulder.”
Free fibromyalgia seminar Thursday
Dr. Ted Suzelis, N.D., is offering a free seminar, “Overcoming Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue,” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Ohio Naturopathic Wellness Center, South Bridge West (behind Second Sole), 755 Boardman-Canfield Road, Suite D-3.

Safety courses offered to public
The National Safety Council, Northern Ohio Chapter, Ohio One Building, 25 E. Boardman St., Suite 343, is offering safety courses. Preregistration is required. The deadline is June 18. Call 330-747-8657 or 1-800-715-0358.
The courses are: CPR/AED Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillator Course, Adult/Child/Infant (2 year certificate), 8:30 a.m. to noon July 2, cost, $40; First Aid (3 year certificate), 1 to 5 p.m. July 2, cost, $40.
Swim lessons offered
American Red Cross of the Mahoning Valley is offering swim lessons at the Warren G. Harding High School pool this month and July for children 3 through 12. Children need not attend Warren schools to participate.
The cost is $30 per student per session. Payment is requested before the first day of class.
There are three two-week sessions: June 23-July 3; July 7-17; and July 21-31. Class times are: 12:30-1:15 p.m., Levels 1 and 3; 1:25-2:10 p.m., Levels 2 and 4; and 2:15-3 p.m., Levels 5 and six and preschool. Preschool programs require an adult in the water with the child.
