A Boardman man was pronounced dead at the scene of a three-vehicle crash Saturday night.
Thomas Lamb, 53 of Boardman, was ejected from his motorcycle and died at the scene. No charges had been filed as of Sunday afternoon, and the crash is still under investigation.
According to the State Highway Patrol, Lamb was driving his Harley Davidson motorcycle with Angela Lamb, 49 of Boardman southbound on state Route 53 north of state Route 2 at about 10:45 p.m. Saturday. A truck driven by Susie Gonzalez, 35 of Port Clinton, with Miguel Popoca, 37 of Port Clinton, was heading northbound on Route 53.
Also traveling southbound was a Honda motorcycle with two Toronto, Ohio, residents, driver and 43-year old John Rice and 42-year old Amy Rice.
Gonzalez turned left in front of the motorcycles; the Lambs on their motorcycle struck the right side of the truck and were ejected. Gonzalez and Angela Lamb were flown to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Toledo with serious injuries.
Lamb was pronounced dead at the scene.
Seatbelts were not used by either person in the truck, and safety helmets were used by all motorcyclists.
The release said alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
