Canfield announces AAC selections

Canfield High School has announced its 2014 spring sports All-American Conference selections and other awards.

In baseball Alec Hammond was first team pitcher/first base, Jimmy Leone was first team pitcher/infield, Edmond Pilolli was first team pitcher/infield, Carter Rhoads was first team catcher and Nick Luchansky was second team second base/outfield.

In softball Allison Fabry was first team/pitcher, Amelia Manenti was first team/catcher, Kara Rothbauer was first team/right field, Ally Sammarco was first team/utility, Rachel Tinkey was first team/shortstop and Karina Kennedy was second team/third base.

In tennis Will Brown was first team, Nick Debiec was first team, Ryan Kaleel was first team and Bobby Long was second team.

The U.S. Marine Corps Student Athlete Awards were presented to Rollin Bresson in cross country/track, Natalie Garritano in volleyball and Michele Whiteleather in golf.

The O.H.S.A.A. Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Awards were presented to Erin McGraw in soccer and Jaret Vrabel in golf and basketball. The O.H.S.A.A. Courageous Student Award was presented to Crissy Gelonese.

The O.H.S.A.A. Scholar Athlete Awards were presented to Mallory Allen in swimming and Will Brown in tennis. The O.H.S.A.A./N.F.H.S. Awards of Excellence were presented to Drew Bennett in swimming and Paige Bidinotto in soccer.
