BOARDMAN

Two men are being held in the Mahoning County jail, accused of trying to steal shrimp from a Boardman grocery store and fleeing while a security guard fired two shots at their car.

According to 21 WFMJ- TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner, Joseph Holmes, 40 of Boardman, and Kevin Sabo, 37, of Campbell, are the men arrested Monday by Coitsville police.

Holmes is charged with felonious assault; Sabo is charged with robbery.

The security guard at Sparkle Market on South Avenue told police he was pushed over by one of the men as they fled the store. The guard fired two bullets at a car driven by one of the men. The driver was trying to strike him with the vehicle, the guard told police.
