New Castle woman in jail in connection with homicide

ELLWOOD CITY, PA. — A woman was arrested in connection with a July 20 shooting at a Loop Street apartment that killed Thomas Lee Everett Paris, 43, and wounded a 34-year-old man.

A news release from state police in New Castle today said Jessica Lynn Jackson, 29, of South Wayne Street, New Castle, surrendered to authorities Tuesday to face charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, simple assault and hindering apprehension of prosecution.

She is accused of wounding Rashaud Alteric Smith, who was shot in the back.

D’Marco D. Hoskins, 22, of Highland Park, Mich., is charged with Paris’ death and is in Lawrence County Jail.

Jackson is also in jail on $100,000 bond after her arraignment Tuesday.
