Success, leadership open house Tuesday
The Raymond J. Wean Foundation’s Neighborhood SUCCESS and Leadership program will have an open house titled “Getting to Know You-Warren” from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at 147 W. Market St. Call 330-394-5600 for information. The open house enables the Wean staff, 2014 Emerging Leaders and Resident Council members to meet with residents to share opportunities available through the program, said Jennifer Roller, Wean Foundation president.
“Neighborhood SUCCESS 1.0: Engaging Residents” awards grants of $500 to $5,000 to develop and implement resident-led projects within the Foundation’s issue priorities.
“Neighborhood SUCCESS 2.0: Emerging Leaders” helps individuals build fundamental leadership skills. A minimum of 25 Warren and Youngstown residents will be selected for the program.
Youngstown State University’s Williamson College of Business Administration has scheduled an information session about its newly revised MBA Program at 5:45 p.m. Monday in Williamson Hall, Room 3418. The 39-credit-hour program has been restructured with working professionals in mind. It offers courses in a business-friendly, concentrated format that meet one evening a week for eight or fewer weeks. Courses are available on campus, online and, starting in January 2015, off-campus in Lorain County. It is accredited by AACSB International. Route 18 closing
Pa. Route 18 on the Shenango River Reservoir causeway in Mercer County is scheduled to be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Thursday evenings for construction. The nighttime detours are expected to end at 6 a.m. Friday. The road closure is required to enable contractors to remove beams on northbound lanes of the bridge. The work is weather-dependent, and will be postponed and rescheduled if conditions warrant. A detour will be posted using Pa. Routes 18, 518, 846 and Rutledge Road.
