Austintown Senior Center, 100 Westchester Drive, has planned the following: Monday, active exercise and charity quilt quilting at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God at 9, bingo and painting class at 10, senior spinning at 11, lunch and advanced computer class at noon and crafting for cart at 1 p.m.; Tuesday, active exercise at 8 a.m., understanding investments video class at 9, bingo and senior spinning at 10, quilting class at 10:30, local trip to lunch at 11:30, chair yoga and lunch at noon and MV Olde Car Club show at 5 p.m.; Wednesday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God and medical mysteries video class at 9, bingo at 10, Fountain of Youth fitness at 11, seminar on Brookdale living with lunch at noon and Disabled American Veterans meeting at 6 p.m.; Thursday, active exercise at 8 a.m., wood carving and ancient Italy travelogue at 9, chair yoga and SOS at 9:30, knitting class and vets helping vets at 10, crocheting class at noon, duck pin bowling at 1 p.m., conversational Spanish class at 1:30, and dinner and bingo at 5; Friday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God and Medieval Europe travelogue at 9, bingo and discussion group at 10, senior spinning at 11 and lunch and trivia at noon. Guardian Angels of Ohio, a volunteer guardianship program of Trumbull County Probate Court, is looking for new volunteers. The next monthly meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 6 at Perkins Family Restaurant, 1953 Niles Cortland Road SE, Warren. Angels reach out in friendship to people who are elderly and alone in Trumbull County by providing trained, qualified volunteers to serve as advocates. Angels also are involved in planning special events for seniors, such as health fairs and Make a Difference Day projects. Lordstown S.C.O.P.E. Center, 1776 Salt Springs Road, is organizing a pinochle group for Trumbull County seniors. Free lessons will be available to learn to play or to brush up on skills. Game night also will be available from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Board games will be played and a light snack will be provided. For information call 330-824-2173.

Niles S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center, 14 E. State St., will offer chair yoga at 1 p.m. Thursdays starting Aug. 14. The class is meeting at 10:15 a.m. Wednesdays but these will end July 30. For information or to sign up, call the center at 330-544-3676.

Senior Independence Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has planned the following: Monday, self-defense class with Ohio State Trooper Jim Conrad from 9 a.m. to noon, needlecraft at 10, bridge at 1 p.m. and Drums Alive at 2:30; Tuesday, Brush, Knife and Needle Club and free hearing screening and hearing aid checks at 10 a.m., and beginner and intermediate bridge at noon; Wednesday, computer classes at 9 and 11 a.m., watercolors class at 10, tap class at noon and line dancing at 1:30 p.m.; Thursday, woodcarvers at 9 a.m., Boardman fun day at 10, exercise at noon, watch our weight and 500 card club at 1 p.m. and Texas Hold’em at 2; and Friday, Wii bowling and Youngstown fun day at 10 a.m., card and board games at noon, movie matinee at 1 p.m. and cornhole at 2. Trumbull County Senior Court AARP Driver’s Safety Program will offer a certified instructor to review driving skills and techniques and strategies for seniors to help them adjust to physical changes, which could affect driving abilities. Cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for nonmembers. Classes will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 29 at Niles S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center, 14 E. Warren S.C.O.P.E. Center, 220 W. Market St., has the following summer classes available: arthritis exercise, 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. Mondays and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursdays; line dancing, 11 am. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays; computer classes, 10 a.m. to noon Wednesdays and Fridays; 500 cards, 12:30 to 3 p.m. Mondays and Fridays in the Garden Room; Mahjong classes, 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays; food pantry for seniors, 10 a.m. to noon Thursdays; bingo, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursdays; and the cafe is open 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays; takeouts are available.
