City police probe Friday shooting

Published: Mon, July 14, 2014 @ 10:39 a.m.

YOUNGSTOWN— Police are investigating a shooting that happened sometime Friday.

Officers were called to St. Elizabeth Health Center about 8:50 p.m. where 43-year-old Charles Pete of Willis Avenue was being treated for gunshot wounds to the chest and hip.

Reports said Pete was not able to tell officers about what happened because he was in surgery.

The car he was driving was pock-marked with bullet holes, there was blood on the driver’s seat and a revolver was found in the driver’s seat also, reports said.

The car was towed for evidence. Pete is still being treated at the hospital.
