Austintown Senior Center, 100 Westchester Drive, has planned the following: Monday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God and blood pressure checks at 9, monthly membership meeting at 9:30, bingo at 10, senior spinning class at 11, advisory council meeting at 11:45, lunch and advanced computer class at noon and crafting for cart at 1 p.m.; Tuesday, active exercise at 8 a.m., understanding investments video class at 9, bingo and senior spinning at 10, quilting class at 10:30, line dancing at 11, chair yoga and lunch at noon, MV Olde Car Club show at 5 p.m. and paint and taste at 6; Wednesday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God, medical mysteries video class and trip to quilters shop at 9, bingo at 10, Fountain of Youth fitness at 11, Drums Alive and pizza party ($3) at noon, movie matinee at 12:30 p.m., Austintown medical van at 1 and Austintown Junior Women’s League meeting at 6; Thursday, active exercise at 8 a.m., wood carving and ancient Italy travelogue at 9, chair yoga and SOS at 9:30, knitting class, veteran food bank and vets helping vets at 10, crocheting class at noon, duck pin bowling at 1 p.m., conversational Spanish class at 1:30, and dinner and grocery bingo at 5; Friday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God, trip to wood carvers at Hartville and Medieval Europe travelogue at 9, bingo and discussion group at 10 and senior spinning at 11. Guardian Angels of Ohio, a volunteer guardianship program of Trumbull County Probate Court, is looking for new volunteers. The next monthly meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 6 at Perkins Family Restaurant, 1953 Niles Cortland Road SE. Angels reach out in friendship to people who are elderly and alone in Trumbull County by providing trained, qualified volunteers to serve as advocates. Angels also are involved in planning special events for seniors, such as health fairs and Make a Difference Day projects. Niles S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center, 14 E. State St., 330-544-3676, has planned the following one-day getaways for seniors: Aug. 20, Made in America Tour to Zanesville with lunch at the brewery, deadline for reservations is July 24, payment of $94 is due Aug. 1 and includes lunch; Aug. 27, “Anderson Summer Reunion Cruise” to Pittsburgh to cruise aboard the Gateway Clipper and includes lunch, cost is $90 or $120 including a baseball game, deadline for sign-up and payment is Aug. 15; Sept. 16, “Wine, Dine and Celebrate” at Geneva; Sept. 19, “Food, Fashion & Fun” at Hartville Kitchen; Sept. 23, “Polynesian Fire” at Seven Springs Resort, Pa.; Oct. 14, “Letchworth Fall Foliage” at Livingston, Pa.; and Dec. 7, “International Pittsburgh,” at University of Pittsburgh Cathedral of Learning. Senior Independence Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has planned the following: Monday, needlecraft at 10 a.m., rummage sale from 10 to 3 p.m., bridge at 1 and Drums Alive at 2:30; Tuesday, Brush, Knife and Needle Club and New Middletown fun day at 10 a.m., rummage sale from 10 to 3 p.m., and beginner and intermediate bridge at noon; Wednesday, computer classes at 9 and 11 a.m., watercolors class and Lake Milton fun day at 10, rummage sale from 10 to 3 p.m., tap class at noon and line dancing at 1:30 p.m.; Thursday, woodcarvers at 9 a.m., Boardman fun day at 10, rummage sale from 10 to 3 p.m., exercise at noon, watch our weight and 500 card club at 1 p.m. and Texas Hold’em at 2; and Friday, Wii bowling and Sebring fun day at 10 a.m., rummage sale from 10 to 3 p.m., card and board games at noon, movie matinee at 1 p.m. and cornhole at 2. Trumbull County Senior Court AARP Driver’s Safety Program will offer a certified instructor to review driving skills and techniques and strategies for seniors to help them adjust to physical changes, which could affect driving abilities. Cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for nonmembers. Classes will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 29 at Niles S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center, 14 E.
