Man arrested, faces gun charge
A man arrested at a home in the first block of Rutledge Avenue on the East Side about 11:40 a.m. Thursday is in Mahoning County jail on $20,000 bond after his arraignment on a gun charge.
Keith Crockett, 31, of Youngstown, was arraigned Friday in municipal court on a charge of being a felon in illegal possession of a firearm after members of the Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Task Force serving a search warrant at the home investigating drug activity found a .45-caliber Glock semiautomatic handgun in a bedroom Crockett was using, reports said.
Also found during the search were several cellphones, a small amount of suspected marijuana and more than $6,700 in cash.
Reports said Crockett was convicted in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court of felonious assault in 2001, which bars him from being allowed to have a firearm.
