Nearly 10 percent of vehicles on road have been recalled
The Automobile Dealers Association of Eastern Ohio, Inc. reports that nearly 10 percent of vehicles on the road have been recalled.
Auto manufacturers have recalled more than 25 million cars since the start of 2014 — nearing the record of nearly 31 million vehicles recalled in 2004, according to the ADAEO.
“The recalls range from incorrectly stated tire pressure on a sticker to potentially serious safety concerns and everything in between, but manufacturers want to avoid any claim that they were overlooking potential vehicle problems,” an ADAEO release says.
They were a reported 252.7 million vehicles in operation in the U.S. at the start of 2014, which breaks down to about 1 in 10 vehicles with a recall notice.
This year currently has the third largest number for recalls.
