First Frankie 'Mr. Lucky' Halfacre Memorial Dog Run and picnic is Saturday

YOUNGSTOWN — An inaugural Frankie “Mr. Lucky” Halfacre Memorial Dog Run will begin with a “doggy picnic” at 2 p.m. Saturday at the old tennis courts on Tod Lane in Youngstown’s Crandall Park on the city’s North Side.

Halfacre, a famous Youngstown disc jockey for more than 50 years, loved dogs. He died in June 2006.

All leashed dogs will be welcomed. Organizers have asked that no very aggressive dogs attend. Participants are asked to bring treats and their own doggy waste bags.
