Waters will bring tasty jazz

Youngstown

Most downtown restaurants will be open before Saturday’s jazz concert on Central Square, and concert-goers will be allowed to bring take-out food to the show. That’s a switch from previous years for the annual jazz festival, designed to include all downtown eateries in the event, say organizers.

Saxophonist Kim Waters will headline the concert. Tickets are $10 at the gate, and patrons are encouraged to bring a chair. Gates open at 6:30 p.m.

After releasing his debut album, “Sweet and Saxy,” in 1989, Waters was instantly established as a premiere urban jazz hit-maker. He now has 16 top-10 jazz singles to his credit. Waters’ 19th album, “My Loves,” was released in 2013.
