4 arrested in appliances theft in Campbell

Staff report

City police arrested four people late Tuesday after catching them in the act of taking a refrigerator and stove from a Monroe Street apartment.

Set to appear in Campbell Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Friday on theft charges are Lamont Palmer, 35, of McGuffey Road, Demetrius A. Lockett, 28, of Glenwood Avenue, and Hubert J. Bowens, 57, of Roslyn Drive, all of Youngstown, and Domonic C. Davis, 19, of Monroe Street, Campbell.

At 9:50 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to the residence in the 10 block of Monroe Street after receiving an anonymous call alerting them to the illegal activity. There, they found a pickup truck with the two appliances in its bed.

Palmer, Lockett and Bowens told police Davis was leasing the apartment. When questioned by police, Davis explained that someone had taken her appliances. She added she was aware the appliances belonged to the Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority. Police later discovered Davis was being evicted.

All four are in the Mahoning County jail.
