Bugno Towing searched after complaint of child sexual abuse

Published: Thu, July 10, 2014 @ 9:55 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN

Police, with help from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the FBI, served search warrants at the East Indianola Avenue and North Garland Avenue offices of Bugno Towing.

Investigators also served warrants Thursday at the Struthers home of the parents of owner Alex Bugno on Clingan Road.

Police Chief Robin Lees would not say much about why the warrants were served. He said the department’s Family Services Unit is handling the investigation. The warrants were served about 10 a.m. Thursday.

Police would only issue a redacted police report of a complaint taken on June 24, where a man said his 16-year-old son had told him that an adult affiliated with the towing company was paying his son. This was so the man could perform oral sex on the boy between April 1 and June 21, the report said.

I can only hope that Chief Lee digs deep enough to uncover the depth of many unseen, unknown victims and crimes. Police Chief Lee... keep digging!
