Road work slated to begin Monday near Salineville

SALINEVILLE — On Monday, blasting work will begin on state Route 39 as part of a rockfall remediation project just east of Salineville in Columbiana County.

The Ohio Department of Transportation says this will cause minor traffic delays. The operation will take place between 2 and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, weather permitting.

Traffic will be stopped at the construction zone daily for approximately 10 minutes while blasting occurs. Only one blast will occur per day. Two-way traffic is being maintained into one, 11-foot lane with temporary traffic signals.

The blasting work is anticipated to take three months with a fall completion date, ODOT says.
