The Lordstown-built Chevrolet Cruze was the top-selling new vehicle for area dealerships in June, with 240 sold compared to 164 sold last year, according to the Automobile Dealers Association of Eastern Ohio report released Tuesday.
In fact, General Motors vehicles were the top-four best-sellers for new-vehicle sales in June. The Chevrolet Equinox was second with 127 sold, the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 was third with 103 sold and the Chevrolet Malibu was fourth with 96 sold.
Taylor Kia led the sales for new and used vehicles with 285 sold. Sweeney Chevrolet came in second with 257 sold, and Greenwood Chevrolet came in third with 220 sold.
However, for new-vehicle sales only, Sweeney Chevrolet led sales with 182 sold, compared with 140 last year.
Taylor Kia came in second with 172 new vehicles sold, compared with 110 last year. And Greenwood Chevrolet came in third with 152 sold, compared with 164 last year.
Taylor Kia led used-vehicle sales with 113 sold. Fairway Ford followed with 80, then Stadium GM Superstore with 76.
The Chevrolet Malibu and Ford F-150 tied at 95 for the top used-vehicle sales.
