Published: Tue, July 8, 2014 @ 3:45 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN

A pregnant woman was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center to be checked out after a two-car accident at the intersection of West Federal Street and Fifth Avenue this afternoon.

The accident happened at 2:05 p.m., police reported.

Police said the Youngstown woman, in her 20s, was not seriously hurt. Her 9-year-old daughter was with her in the car and was also uninjured.

Police said she ran a red light at the intersection and hit another car. That driver was not hurt.

The woman, whom police would not name, is expected to be cited with failing to stop for a red light and for having an expired driver’s permit.
